James A Heinz, CPA / PFS, JD

Jim is the Founder and Managing Partner of Heinz Jolles & Berry, LLP, a CPA Firm specializing in Private Client Tax Services. Jim is considered by many to be one of the foremost tax planners in North Florida.  Jim has focused on tax planning for successful individuals, business owners, and families for over 35 years. His longstanding goal is to work with clients to preserve and grow wealth by minimizing taxes. Jim wants to be his client’s most-trusted tax advisor.

Jim was previously a Tax Partner with KPMG, where he served as Partner-In-Charge of the Jacksonville tax practice for 15 years. In addition to his CPA and Law Degree, Jim received the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of CPA’s. Jim obtained both his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate from Indiana University.  Jim has been active in various professional and civic organizations. He is currently Treasurer of The Josh Heinz Foundation which is a major contributor to Paws Park Dog Park in Jacksonville Beach. Jim is the former President of the Estate Planning Council, former Treasurer of the Jacksonville Symphony, former Treasurer of the River Club, and former Board Member of Episcopal School Foundation. He is currently active with Baptist Health Foundation Professional Advisory Group and the Planned Giving Advisory Committee to the Catholic Foundation.  Jim resides in Deerwood with his wife, Mary Ann and have three children and two grandchildren. Joshua (deceased) was a graduate of University of Florida, Jennifer is a graduate of Auburn University, Ryan is a graduate of George Washington University and University of Bridgeport where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.  Jim and Mary Ann enjoy relaxing at their home on Amelia Island, rooting for Indiana University sports, Florida and Auburn football, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jim is also a lifetime fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
